Friday the 13th is my BFF for Reals (Bad Faring Fanfare)

Whew! I'm lucky I even survived today! This was the first Friday the 13th that I've actually felt really unlucky. It was uncanny how many things didnt go according to plan. 1st I dropped a glass bottle completely full of chocolate milk that shattered all over my floor. 2nd I had to miss seeing my friend because of work. 3rd at work I burnt myself. 4th my cat ran away (she's safe now, but wierdly only after it was midnight.... spooky...). Ermm.... I bet there's more that I'm not thinking of but wutevs. Is it just me or is that pretty unlucky? idk. Then my friend tayler told me she spent the morning in the vets as a dog died. So I'm pretty convinced it's not just superstition. Color me freaked! Outies!

p.s.!!!!: if u have any stories, I'd love to hear em.... I'd just love someone to acknoledge my existence actually................................... sigh....

The Unsung Ballad of the Late Night Fast Food Worker

Ok, so I work at a certain local fast food restaurant chain and we always get p'wnd by customers especially late at night. The later it is at night, the more demanding the customer is... So I wrote a snooty tune.

it's 2 minutes to close and you insist on getting food
i'm close to leaving so i don't really care if i'm rude
i said "lady, why don't you come back later."
and thought, "god, what a dopehead."
then she said "why not now, you're still open.
so don't you give me any attitude.
i got kids in the backseat
they're crying cuz they wanna eat
now we're really willing to pay
so can we please just have it our way?"
which made me think, "what kids have an appetite
at fricken' 11 o'clock at night?"

customers, ya you! you can be mighty inconvenient
when i just wanna go home and sleep
i got dishes to wash and everythings put in the freezer
and those garbage cans are looking steep
so if you please, get the heck outa here
i don't wanna here drive-thru beep!

you might think i'm pretty selfish, but you try working everyday
for minimum wage
with morons who don't know how to pronounce what they want
and then they get pissed when you make it for them all wrong
try slipping on grease in my shoes
see how well they fit you
as for me i'm gettin pretty sick of it
just til the end of summer i swear, and then i'll quit

i tell the people at drive to politely screw off
and instead they decided to pull up
and to my dismay and utter shock
it turned out that i just ran out of luck
i guess now i don't have to quit
because the people at drive were the boss and her kids

Olivia and Her Love: Chapter 6

At this point and time, You've probably started to wonder
What happened to the parents of utter blunder
What happened since they left their child in thunder
On the streets with a shark for a hand
They had forgot his name by ten
But they had abandoned him long before then
Crying but alive
Lost in the streets of Chicago
Where was he to go
At the tender age of five?

After leaving him there they moved to Wyoming
To cover themselves in the sweet smelling spring
And forget their son was alive
They used to keep a scrapbook
They barely used that
They'd hardly ever take a look
And eventually left it for scrap
With pictures of their sorry lives
And the young boy before five

The father of the child became a miner
And the mother of the accident couldn't have felt any finer
The saddest part is in pretending that they never had a son
They never did and he wasn't so
So they couldn't let him go
Because he was already gone and went
Nothing but a ghost
And all the money they gave him, he went and spent
On a ticket to the coast
To one day meet his darling Olivia

Olivia and Her Love: Chapter 5

Now not everyone thought this bond practical
Olivia had a brother with a plot
To foil the couple with every chance he got
because he wanted all this foolishness to stop
his sister was fragile and all the while
This dangerous boy was trying to get her hot
"She doesn't need that," he thought
"Because she'd already be burned once
and once was enough"

After months of trying to split them up
Things took a devilish twist
He got the keys to his father's pick up truck
And said, "I'm sorry it has come to this"
Murder is never the answer to choose first
Because it rips things apart and makes them hurt worse
But when someone's trying to run you over
There's not much time to think
The boy with a shark for a hand had one last plan
To sink the truck in the big drink
So he ran to the dock with the truck on his heals
And it chased him right off the dock
wettening the wheels
The machine has sunk like a rock
And the brother never surfaced
Olivia stood horrified on the beach as her true love came out of the sea

Olivia and Her Love: Chapter 4

After falling in love
One must realize sacrifices must be made
And for both of them debts would have to be paid
For Olivia could touch nothing without pain
Felt brisk
And seeing as the boy had a shark for a hand, this was
A terrible risk
But he said poetically and unnervingly realistically:

"I love you but I have a shark for a hand
I can't save you from the swallowing quicksand
Of our lives, and as hard as we try
You'll always be fried, and darling,I'll always have a shark for a hand."

But that didn't stop their love
Which could never be broken
And they grew closer together despite both having
Doubts unspoken

They would stay in her room on days without gloom
And laugh and laugh and play her phonograph
And when she would use it
It played such beautiful music
That they would close their eyes
And not laugh, but grow very serious
Olivia said that the string section was close to her heart
And the boy said it reminded him of the lark
And after that they'd stay quite quiet
And listen to music and immerse themselves in it
It was the most beautiful times of their lives
They were meant to spend this time togoether
Two birds of a feather of a very romantic lark

Olivia and Her Love: Chapter 3

Now comes the most tender moment yet
The time when our two heroes met
It was a moment they would never forget
It was a time that they would never regret
It was in fact quite quaint
Which most would say
That on this day
That it ain't
Because it was dreary, but dreary days for Olivia was the best time to be outside
Where she laint

And if anyone saw her or if anyone spied
On this day she had started and continued to cry
And on this day of drear, who could bring her cheer?
Except for a charming young man
With a muzzle on his hand
And a face devoid of pried

He gave her a rock shaped like a heart
And said "this is what i received from a lark
Who came to me last night in the dark
and said 'give this to the prettiest girl on the beach'"
And since they were on a beach and Olivia was in fact a girl
This was the perfect thing to say
So they both laid on the beach all day
and on that day, promptly fell in love

Paint By Numbers

k. this song is dedicated to any emo kid who thinks they're a rebel (aka hypocrites)

PAINT BY NUMBERS

I wish I could paint by numbers but I can't stay in the lines
I wish I could be a puppet but I can't be bought and sold
Why would I dress all dark when the world needs a little sun?
I wish I could step through this battlefield without stepping on the mines
I wish I could be like jell-o but I can't stay in the mold
Why do we take ourselves seriously when the world just needs a little fun?

{Chorus}
I'm a story book rebel
I won't play with your play doh
Just because you ask me to
Who's making your decisions?
Shouldn't It be you?

Shout! Because I told you to!
Rebel! Because it's what the cool kids do!
Simon says pick your nose
Trip yourself on the garden hose
The only decision there is is his
So everybody throw yourselves off a bridge

{Chorus}

Well maybe I'm a rebel in my own way
By not being a rebel and following the trend
Wait is that technically a rebel?
If rebelling is what everyones doing, whose rebelling against being a rebel? someone who fits in?
IT'S JUST A FRICKIN' WORD
let's just have a little fun!

{Chorus}

Olivia and Her Love: Chapter 2

The family in flight school lived in America
And they took Olivia there because
They felt compassion for such a child
They did not though understand
What happened to her parents
For their corpses were lost in the sand
Lying together with their mouths filled
With sand and their bodies wrapped in one another
Underneath the hill, lying for an eternity still
Fourteen was a tender year
More tender for her I fear
Because poor, sweet Olivia
Still had the sunburn head to toe
And ear to ear
A constant reminder of her parents lost and dear

But her life was good now
She had love from family and friends
And apart from having very sensitive skin
She had as normal a life as one could hope to spend

Unlike the boy with the shark for a hand
Whose life wasn't going as planned
He was fifteen and
His days weren't as grand
And no one could understand
The boy behind the shark hand
That is until he met Olivia with her ruby skin
And the next chapter in his life would begin

Finding Oneself is a Battle Anymore

Ok. So my last post was at about 5 o'clock. After that I went for a walk down to the railroad tracks by my house. On the way I was lucky enough to see 4 planes fly overhead as they were taking off from the airport about a mile or so away. It was quite a sight to behold. Then I went to the tracks and laid down on them. I saw many birds and an entire flock of geese. This all sounds simple enough, but for me it was really breath taking and quite life changing in fact. Whenever I don't feel like myself, I know that I'll find what was missing at the railroad tracks down the road by my house outdoors in the warm early morning summer air.

"This Is Me Saying Words I Actually Mean"

The title of this post comes from a song by The Rocket Summer called 'A Song Is Not A Business Plan'. I just listened to that song and like every time I listen to Brice Avary, it made me think. Sincerity is so rare anymore, because everything has been done before and now everyone is just repeating the same worn out ideas. And who wants to take the time to be honest and true anymore when you can just get instant success on youtube? We seem to mess up our lives by over complicating things because we're afraid of being judged for who we are. Ya, I know, a little preachy coming from a 16 year old high schooler working at a fast food restaurant. If you feel like being original but don't know how, a great place to start is by watching the movie Garden State. The first time you might not get it, but for me the second time it really sunk in. Everything we do anymore is to try to get away from our real selves. And once you just stop living for false idols and fantasy ideals, it hits you: I'm alive and I don't have forever to be that way. These feelings seemed to all be intertwined with summer for me, which is a good thing because that's the current season. So if I haven't given you enough recommendations yet, I suggest you read the book Dandelion Wine by Ray Bradbury. It's all about youth and summer and is magic start to finish. No one is reading this anymore. Bubblegum Sandwich! I hope you enjoyed that treat, you deserved it for reading this whole post even though you have a busy life. Thank you for your time. PEACE!

Olivia and Her Love: Chapter 1

Olivia and her love is an epic poem that I am slowly but surely composing. ya, there's LOTS of chapters to it. but here's the first!

CHAPTER 1

He was born with a shark for a hand
His parents had a name for him, but they forgot it by ten
What a tender age
With the extra baggage
Of an appendage
So unruly and ravage
He joined the scouts as a tenderfoot
But he scared all the boys and bit through all the knots
But he was growing up, and for him all was not lost
Not by a mile

Olivia was born on a hill in the Serengeti
Up there her mother wsa to bear and it was ready
But as she was having the child
Her labors grew wild
And she kicked her husband off of the hill
After which he had a terrible spill
After birth the mother got ill
And soon she grew very still
Leaving the orphaned baby to crawl
Through the rough sun filled Serengeti
and already her skin was reddening
The desert was no dessert and in fact quite deserted she learned
So poor Olivia had no shelter from the sun which sweltered and caused her skin to burn
But a nice family in flight school saw her laying in the sun
And that's how it all begun

With Friends Like These, Who Needs The Death Penalty?

aighty, so a lot of what i'll post are poems and songs. this is a song i wrote about conflicts with friends. again please comment! and brush your teeth young man!

WITH FRIENDS LIKE THESE, WHO NEEDS THE DEATH PENALTY?

We're a hornets nest of hormones
We keep tearing each other down to the bone
If I didn't cause this, can somebody tell me
why I always end up alone

{Chorus}
Could I get out of this scott free?
God, could you please help me?
I'm sick of being angry
Please Lord, take my plea

This is all just falling around my ankles
Like the glass house we built
Well I'm not the one who threw the stone
But it's still my blood being spilt

{Chorus}

Are we going to make it throught the storm?
Well I hope to God we do
Am I going to be left out in the rain?
We're not all going to make it through
Who's going to keep this boat afloat?
When we keep pulling out the screws
This is an epic falling out
in which we're all going to lose
So who's going to be holding the gun?
Well I hope it isn't you

{Chorus}

{Reprise 1st Verse}
